Submit your film to the BOO International Film Festival 2025

Be part of the 1st edition of BOO — an international film festival dedicated to short-form cinema, audience development, and audiovisual education.

The BOO International Film Festival was created through the transformation of the ELBE DOCK International Film Festival (2018-2024) and the International Film Festival for Children and Youth, Young Film Fest (2017-2024).

BOO will present a selection of the best European short films with a special emphasis on reaching a wide audience – from children and young people to the seniors. Thanks to its focus on audience development and the active involvement of both young viewers and the older generation, BOO represents a unique project within the Czech context. It will also include an extensive industry programme dedicated to short films and audiovisual education in Europe.

BOO AWARDS
Films submitted to the unified "BOO AWARDS" category will be reviewed, categorized, and potentially selected for one of the following competition sections:

AWARD FOR THE BEST EUROPEAN SHORT FILM is awarded to the director of the film and is accompanied by a financial reward of EUR 1,000. The winning film will also receive a prize in the form of distribution in the Czech Republic.

AWARD FOR THE BEST CZECH OR GERMAN SHORT FILM is awarded to the director of the film and is accompanied by a financial reward of EUR 1,000. The winning film will also receive a prize in the form of distribution in the Czech Republic.

Films not selected for the main competition may be considered for parallel sections:

AWARD FOR THE BEST EUROPEAN SHORT FILM FOR YOUTH (15-19 YEARS OLD)

AWARD FOR THE BEST EUROPEAN SHORT FILM FOR YOUTH (12-14 YEARS OLD)

AWARD FOR THE BEST EUROPEAN SHORT FILM FOR CHILDREN

The winning films in these categories will be awarded distribution in the Czech Republic.
